Parts built around your requirements.

From drawing to machined component

CNC machining removes material from a workpiece to create the required geometry. Milling uses a rotating cutting tool to form features such as pockets, slots, holes and flat surfaces. The design, material and intended use all influence the machining approach. At Western Rose, your project starts with understanding what the component needs to do.

Prototypes, functional parts and production

A first component can help you check fit, assembly and function before committing to a production order. We also cover repeat orders and ongoing manufacturing supply. Share your expected quantities and how often you need parts, so the discussion covers the whole production requirement, not just the first item.

Material, tolerance and finish

Tell us which material you need, where dimensions are critical and whether the part mates with other components. Surface finish and appearance can also affect the manufacturing route. We confirm the available options and achievable requirements against your design before agreeing the work.

CNC machining or 3D printing?

The choice depends on geometry, material, mechanical requirements and quantity. Machining may suit a component that needs to be made from solid stock, while 3D printing can be useful for developing forms and producing different geometries. If you are unsure which route fits, send your design and intended use for review.

Useful answers

Before you enquire.

Can you help with a single prototype?

Yes. We discuss one-off components and prototypes as well as production orders and ongoing supply. Tell us whether the part is for testing or its final application.

Which materials can you machine?

Send your preferred material and the conditions the component will face. We confirm the available material and machining options for your particular project.

Do you offer milling as well as 3D printing?

Yes. Western Rose covers CNC machining and milling alongside 3D printing. We agree the manufacturing process when reviewing your design.
